To start off I am a little embarrassed to say that I crashed at Autobahn Country Club, and it was all for reasons I talk about and I should have known better.
Anyone that knows me, knows that I can be quite hard on myself. My decision to do what I did goes against what I talk or preach about and know. Long story short I pushed to hard to learn a track I did not know in adverse track conditions, I highsided, busted a few bones, and messed up the rest of my season. I was holding 2nd in points in 2 classes and 3rd in points for 2 others.
The lesson I learned from this was that, if I would have just taken my time, and only participated, came in 4th or 5th or even 6th (which I would have). I would have still been racing. I would have still held those positions in points (if not gaining some ground). Because of this HUGE mistake, I am done with the season, and I have started preparations for the 2017 season.
So it brings me to this. This year I plan to do a small Youtube series about what it takes to rebuild my track bike through the winter. This will also give you some tips and hopefully help you when you decide to track your bike or want to start racing. If the series gains enough traction. With this series I will also show what its like for me during the racing season, showing the week before and after a track day or race. Subscribe to the channel and we can do this together.
I like to do as much as I can on my own, but sometimes to get professional results, a professional needs to be asked for his/her help. So for the 2017 season I am going to ask for help from TSE. My suspension is with them for rebuild and I look forward to using their services for the 2017 season.
Be strong enough to stand alone, smart enough to know when you need help, and brave enough to ask for it. Ziad K. Abdelnour
