Catalyst Composites only makes 650r bodywork for the first generation (07-09) and third generation (12-15). The lower and mid fairing brackets for the second gen are a bit different compared to the first gen, and the third gen is altogether different. I was able to find a set of first gen bottom and mid mounting brackets. I used the first gen brackets to get a general idea where he bodywork needed to be, but the mid mounts would not work. The first gen mid fairing mounts did not line up with the fairings mid mount locations, and I am unsure why.
The approach I took was, mount the bottom (known location that was the correct), after the bottom was fastened get the upper fairing stay fabricated, and then fabricate the mid mounts. Catalyst Composites has also discontinued the upper fairing stay, so one had to be fabricated. Vortex makes an upper stay, this is the route that I took. The Vortex upper fairing stay does NOT work with these fairings and needed massive modifications (Cutting and Welding) to get to work. This does not make mounting as straight forward as it could or should be.
Other bodies would have worked with about the same amount of hassle. Getting dedicated or model specific fairings for the ex650 has proven difficult and Catalyst Composites are currently the only ones I have found to make them specifically for the EX650r or er-6.
