The Van

Last year I sold my rusty but trusty 99 Dodge 2500 Truck and bought a 96 GMC Savana passenger van.  After a year of owning this van, I only have one regret.  That regret is I wish it were a 3/4 ton, but I can get over that.

I plan to do some trackdays in 2014 and I needed a hauler. I needed something that was easier to load my bike into, than trying to load it into my truck (which was not low to the ground).  So I opted for a van because getting an enclosed trailer to pull behind my truck was going to cost way to much in fuel.  My old truck used to get 13mpg on a good day and this van gets 17mpg.

I plan on installing a Pit Bull trailer restraint system for my  bike and I will more than likely install a second restraint system for another bike, so someone else can tag along if they like.

I’m thinking 80″ Patriot side exhaust and 18″ aluminum rims.
Van Track Day Hauler with more room than expected
There is more room in these than expected after the seats are out.

More than likely I will do some mods to help with my track day adventures, before I do the unnecessary exhaust and wheel mod.

Riding motorcycles and wrenching since my preteen years, I have moved from motocross to street bikes. Being a teen back in those days it was tough to get me off of the bike. Now days even though I am very busy being a dad I still have my weekends and go to the track to race and on occasion will do a track day or two.
